W2RO CEO Ashley De Souza and Manager, Policy & Government Relations, Darryl Wolk were in attendance today as it was announced that the Ontario government is providing $2 million in funding through the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) stream of the Regional Development Program (RDP) in support of the Convertus York Biofuel Facility.
Convertus’ new facility will create more than 50 good-paying jobs in York Region, converting organic waste into renewable natural gas. Throughout the build and operation of the facility, Convertus will prioritize sourcing from local suppliers, strengthening the region’s economy and creating new opportunities for Ontario’s world-class workers.
