This presentation will emphasize the importance of resilience as a strategic priority to ensure business continuity and long-term sustainability while summarizing key risk factors and controls as well as providing insight into what insurers look for.
MEET THE SPEAKER:
Giancarlo Simone, BSc, CRM, C.Tech, Senior Risk Specialist, Aviva Canada
Giancarlo Simone is a seasoned risk management and valuation professional with over 15 years of experience delivering strategic insights and technical expertise across Canada’s commercial and industrial sectors. With a strong foundation in fire and safety engineering, Giancarlo has built a career marked by innovation, leadership, and measurable impact. Currently serving as a Senior Risk Specialist at Aviva Canada, Giancarlo provides expert risk assessments and loss control services for complex property and high-hazard HPR type accounts. His work supports underwriting decisions and enhances client risk profiles through detailed field evaluations and strategic recommendations. Giancarlo holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire & Safety Engineering Technology from the University of Cincinnati and a diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology from Seneca College. He is a Certified Engineering Technician (OACETT) and holds the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. His academic background is complemented by specialized training in building construction, fire hazards, and liability loss prevention.
